CHICAGO (WBBM) -- The Chicago Transit Authority has launched a web site selling CTA-themed merchandise.
There are CTA t-shirts that you can customize with your EL stop, baseball caps, cufflinks fashioned from old tokens, ties and puzzles and coffee mugs, to name a few items.
With 45 million annual visitors to Chicago and one point eight million daily riders, CTA president Ron Huberman believes there's a market.
He says New York City's transit system did over two million in sales of similar merchandise last year.
Huberman noted the T-shirts must be cool because one was spotted on a member of the rock band Radiohead at the Lolapalooza music festival.
The CTA not running the website. Its selling merchandising rights for a cut of the profits.
