Bond Set For Teacher Accused Of Sexual Assault

ST. CHARLES, Ill. (STNG)  -- Bond was set at $100,000 Tuesday for a northwest suburban high school teacher charged with the sexual assault of a 16-year-old student.

Ronald D. Suitts, 57, of 874 Shuler Ave. in Elgin, was charged with criminal sexual assault for having a sexual relationship with a 16-year-old girl between the fall of 2002 until the fall of 2003, according to a release from the Elgin police department.

In June 2008, the now 22-year-old woman reported that she had a sexual relationship with Suitts at 16 while he was her German teacher at Larkin High School in Elgin.

Bond for Suitts was set at $100,000 in Kane County Court Tuesday, the release said.
