Another Bed Bug Suit Filed Against Presidential Towers

CHICAGO (STNG)  -- Another bed bug lawsuit against Presidential Towers was filed in Cook County Circuit Court Wednesday.

Kenneth Lee, a resident at 555 W. Madison St., filed the suit, alleging he suffered personal injuries and property damage after his apartment was infested with bed bugs.

Lee claims that on March 1, 2005, the apartment that was connected to his was infested with bed bugs, and that Presidential Towers should have known of the problem. Lee’s apartment became infested with bed bugs 11 days later, the suit said.

The suit alleges Presidential Towers was negligent when it failed to warn Lee of the infestation of the adjacent apartment and it did not take precautionary measures to prevent infection within Lee’s apartment.

Lee’s lawsuit comes almost a week after three other residents of Presidential Towers filed a suit, claiming they too were bitten by the insects while they slept in their units.

Lee is seeking in excess of $100,000 in damages.
