The U.S. Navy parachute team was first formed in 1969, and was officialy titled "The Leap Frogs" in 1974 by the Chief of Naval Operations and assigned the mission of demonstrating Navy excellence throughout the United States.
The Leap Frogs jump from a height of 12,500 feet, and can reach free-fall speeds up to 180 mph.
They have been made famous by their death defying formations such as downplanes, sideplanes, dragplanes, diamonds, big stacks, tri-by-sides, and T formations.
