Blue Angels

The Blue Angel's history dates back to 1946 after Chief of Naval Operations Admiral Chester Nimitz wanted to keep people interested in naval aviation. According to some accounts, the team was named after the Blue Angel nightclub in New York. The team's current aircraft, the F/A-18 Hornet, debuted in 1986 and is also used as the Navy's front-line in aeronautical defense.

The Blue Angels have performed for over 427 million fans.
