Dark Knight Indeed: Batman Can?t Beat Mother Nature

  EVANSTON – Holy Blackout Batman!

The latest Batman movie, Black Knight, was replaced by a black out in Evanston, delaying sold-out shows as a moviehouse awaited power restoration.

A sotrm-induced power outage struck an area on Maple Avenue around 6 Friday night, knocking out power to the movie theater on Maple ... and it happened during the clsoing 20 minutes of the showing.

Among the stunned movie-goers:  14-year-old Geoffrey Marshall.

Marshall says the theater issued rainchecks to the disappointed fans, but not everyone took the news lightly.
A Com-Ed spokesperson tells NewsRadio 780 there were scattered power outages in Evanston all evening, with crews working to restore the power to homes and businesses.
Subsequent showings at the theater were delayed several hours. With all shows sold out, hundreds waited for their chance to see the ballyhooed film shot in Chicago.
