Coyotes Spotted in Wheaton

WHEATON--City officials in Wheaton are advising residents to keep an eye on small children and small pets when outdoors, in light of some recent coyote sightings in the western suburb. Other than that, though, the city reminds residents that coyotes are not uncommon in the area and no problems were experienced in the recent sightings.
The Wheaton Police Department has received reports of a coyote being sighted in the areas of Hiram Drive and Helen Court.

Usually coyotes reside in wooded areas, according to the release, though they have entered residential neighborhoods occasionally.

Though there haven't been any problems with coyotes in the area. Anyone may call 911 if they observe any wild animal behaving in a threatening manner and officers will respond.
