SKOKIE, Ill. (STNG) -- A Glenview woman accused of stealing a dump truck in broad daylight Saturday from a job site in the North Shore suburb was ordered held on a $20,000 bond Monday.
Victoria K. Langill, 23, of 4300 West Lake, appeared in the courtroom of Cook County Judge Claudia Conlon in the Skokie branch of Cook County Circuit Court Monday, according to a release from Glenview Police.
The release said Langill stole the 2002 Chevy C3500 Mini-dump truck from a work site on the 1000 block of Harlem Avenue minutes before noon Saturday. Police saw the truck in the 1700 block of Chestnut Avenue and tried to stop it, but the driver fled southbound on Waukegan Road.
She turned west on Stevens Drive, according to the release, straight into a dead end. She attempted to flee on foot but was arrested shortly after, police said. Hypodermic needles were found in her purse, the release said.
Langill was charged with unlawful possession of a stolen motor vehicle, fleeing and attempting to elude police, resisting arrest of a peace officer, possession of hypodermic needles, avoiding a traffic control device and improper lane usage.
Her next court appearance is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. July 8 in Skokie.
