CHICAGO (STNG) - One woman faces a misdemeanor charge after she was allegedly involved in a brawl involving nearly 50 females, several of them teenagers, Wednesday night on the South Side.
Police were initially called to West 81st and South Laflin streets at 10:25 p.m. for what they thought were multiple shots fired and with multiple victims, according to Gresham District police.
What they found were two groups of girls from the same area beating each other up for an unknown reason. There were 40 to 50 females involved.
None had guns, but it was unknown if other weapons were involved.
None of their injuries were serious and the females involved mostly suffered bruises during the fight. “It was a pretty chaotic scene,” police said.
A 20-year-old woman was charged with misdemeanor simple battery for allegedly striking the other woman, also 20, with her hands, police News Affairs Officer Laura Kubiak said, unable to confirm details about the large brawl.
