3 of Lake County's 10 Most Wanted Nabbed - Most Wanted Mugshots Here

CHICAGO (WBBM)  -- Two weeks after announcing Lake county's 10 most-wanted gang members, federal authorities say they've arrested three of them.

Police say after the March 24th announcement, tips flooded in to law enforcement agencies, resulting in the arrest of Derek Gordon, Cordale Handy, and William Earl Gist.

With the capture of the three fugitives, three more gang members have been added to Lake County's most wanted list. They are Dion Lavell Edwards, Darryl Lavar Michell, and Adrian Rivera.

Congressman Mark Kirk says there are over 2,000 gang members living north of Lake-Cook Road. Recent figures from the State of Illinois show a 3.1 percent increase in serious crime in Lake County from 2005 to 2006. There was a 1.7 percent drop in statewide violent and property crimes in the same period.
