Triple Amputee Iraq Vet Stars On CSI: New York

CHICAGO (WBBM) - A wounded war veteran from Rolling Meadows says he\'s finding a career in Hollywood. You can see him on tonight\'s broadcast of CSI: New York on CBS.

WBBM\'s Regine Schlesinger reports Bryan Anderson lost both legs and an arm in Iraq, but not his spirit or dreams.

Bryan Anderson says the star of CSI: New York, Chicago native Gary Sinise who won an Oscar as a wheelchair-bound Vietnam vet in the movie Forrest Gump, has told him, "You\'re the real Lt. Dan," referring to Sinise\'s Forrest Gump character.

Anderson was maimed when a roadside bomb exploded near his Humvee in Baghdad 3 years ago. His aspiration since returning home was to become a Hollywood stunt man but, now Anderson is thinking about acting after playing a role as a disabled ex-Navy Seal suspected of murder on tonight\'s CSI: New York.

His advice for other wounded soldiers: "You\'ve got to find your niche. You\'ve gotta have fun. The more fun you have, the easier it\'s going to be to handle and you\'ve just got to accept what happened. Life does go on."

Anderson says he no longer thinks of his wounds as a tragedy but as an experience that led him to where he is now.
