NAPERVILLE—The doghunt continues for a 2-month-old Pomeranian stolen from a pet store Friday morning.
About 11:40 a.m., the puppy was taken from the Petland store at 720 S. Route 59 in Naperville, according HelpMeFindMyPet.com. According to store personnel, a young man came into the store and asked to see the puppy, then placed it under his sweatshirt and ran off.
The thief is caught on the store’s surveillance video, a white male wearing a black hooded sweatshirt. The video is with Naperville police, who are investigating. The theft was reported to the online “amber alert” service for pets.
The puppy, which has a microchip embedded in between the shoulders, is described as a male weighing less than 2 pounds with long red sable hair. Petland officials are concerned because the puppy could die if not properly taken care of, due to its size and age
