CHICAGO (WBBM) -- Presidential candidate Barack Obama is close to wrapping up all 27 of Illinois’ superdelegates. There’s only one that has not yet picked a side.
Last week, Congressman Dan Lipinski formally came off-the-fence and decided to use his superdelegate vote to support Barack Obama. Now, superdelegate Margie Woods a Will County Board member has done the same leaving Congressman Rahm Emanuel as the lone fence-sitter.
Congresswoman Melissa Bean says "everyone understand’s Rahm’s situation". She points out that Cong. Emanuel was the architect of the new Democratic majority in congress and had enlisted the support of Senator Barack Obama and former President Bill Clinton, whom Emanuel also worked for during Clinton's days in the White House.
Bean is working her colleagues in Congress trying to get them to back Obama.
