Indulge me for a moment please. Instead of my normal restaurant review, I’m going to take a little time for some general rants.
Why are bathrooms in some restaurants so cold? Does it really cost that much to heat the bathroom. I can’t speak for the ladies, but from my vantage point, we need some heat.
Similarly, turn on the hot water faucet. How much more is it going to cost to allow customers to wash their hands properly? And, provide liquid soap. I don’t want to handle a bar used by someone else.
Have someone check once in a while to make sure the towel dispenser is filled. For that matter, and here’s a rave, I appreciate restaurants that place the towel dispenser near the door. That way, I can use my used towel to turn the door knob, without worrying that someone who did not wash their hands was ahead of me.
Moving from the bathroom to the dining room. Change the table ware between courses. It just makes the dining experience that much more pleasant.
So, too do comfortable chairs. I was at a restaurant recently where the hardwood chair seat and the ramrod straight ladder back made me think I was in some police station being given the third degree. Diners deserve a little comfort, don’t you think? It’s only hospitable.
Speaking of hospitality, how about waiting until all diners at the table are finished before starting to whisk away table settings. It’s rude to those diners at the table who are still eating, and makes them feel rushed.
On the other hand, how about waiting until I ask for the check before bringing it. Then, after I’ve given you my credit card, get the bill back quickly so I and my friends can be on our way. Don’t hold up my time, while you are serving other tables.
There, I feel much better now, and I haven’t even mentioned the noise issue. By the way, if you have your own pet peeves about restaurants, or maybe something you like, have your say at our website, wbbm780.com. Look for the prompts and blog away.
