White Cadillac Sought After Fatal I-90 Crash

ELGIN -- State police are searching for a white Cadillac sedan that triggered a three-vehicle fatal crash on I-90 Monday morning, killing David Nazario,  24, of Chicago.

The white Cadillac raced onto I-90 from the State Street/Illinois 30 ramp in Elgin and immediately darted into the middle eastbound lane, causing a blue Honda Civic to swerve into the far right lane out of the Cadillac’s path, according to Illinois State Police Tollway District Master Sgt. Allison Renaud.

In the span of seconds the Civic crashed into a red Nissan and spun out, and a white O’Hare shuttle bus slammed into the Civic, killing its 24-year-old driver, Renaud said.

Nazario, of 3655 N. Spaulding Ave., was killed in the crash, Renaud said. Nazario was driving alone and wearing a seatbelt at the time, but the Civic was totaled in the “pretty bad crash.”

There were about 10-12 people on the shuttle bus, but nobody else was injured in the Nissan or bus, Renaud said.

Anyone with information on the Cadillac or crash is urged to call state police at (630) 241-6800.
