Volunteers Join Search For Stacy Peterson

CHICAGO (WBBM) - The search for Stacy Peterson, the Bolingbrook woman missing for eight days now, is getting some help from a Texas- based group of volunteers.

WBBM's Steve Miller reports.

The group is called Equusearch, and its founder is Tim Miller, whose own daughter was abducted and murdered in Texas in 1984.

Stacy Peterson's sister Cassandra Cales says she is relieved now that Miller and his group have come to Bolingbrook to help search.

"We spoke until about 4 in the morning and we discussed everything... and he just took over.  And it felt good."

"Now that Tim Miller is here with Equusearch, I just feel like ten pounds of weight off my shoulders, you know?  It doesn't mean I'm stopping.  I'm still continuing."

Illinois State Police say nine areas were searched yesterday. Each team had a canine unit - and that an airplane searched each of the nine areas.

State police have set up a hotline for tips on Stacy Peterson's whereabouts: 815-740–0678.
