Woman raped near Ravinia Metra station

HIGHLAND PARK, Ill. (CBS/WBBM) ― A woman was violently attacked just minutes after she stepped off a Metra train in Highland Park.
Now police want to know who else was on that train.
Police say late Tuesday night, someone reported a possible sexual assault on the bike path. They found the victim, and put together this chain of events.
Highland Park police say at 12:35 a.m. Wednesday a woman got off a Metra train at the Ravinia station. She told them she walked north, and was sexually assaulted on the Green Bay Trail nearby.
There are three Metra stations in Highland Park: Ravinia Park outside the Ravinia Festival music park, Ravinia at 510 Roger Williams Avenue and Highland Park at 1800 St. John's Ave.
"I was shocked. Honestly, none of this ever happens around here," area resident Ellie McGivern said.
Resident Cathy Winston was just as surprised.
"You think that this is a quiet suburb," she said.
Having said that, Winston said she would never walk the trail alone at night. Neither would Nathaniel Schaeffer.
"It gets dark very early on the path and with all the trees and bushes anything could happen [and] no one would see it.
Donna Campbell, who was getting ready to board a Metra train, said people have a false sense of security in this nice neighborhood.
The attacker is described as an adult Hispanic male with a clean shaven, pudgy face. He is approximately 6 feet tall.
Anyone who may have information regarding this investigation, in particular anyone who may have been on or know someone who may have been on the 12:35 a.m. Metra train from Chicago on Wednesday July 15, 2009 is urged to call the Highland Park Police Department Investigations Unit at (847) 432-7730.
