Wisc. Woman Get First license At 73

WISCONSIN RAPIDS, Wis. (STNG)  -- For 73 years, Millie Kleinschmidt relied on family and friends as her chauffeur.

But, after her husband broke his hip and was transferred to a nursing home, the Wisconsin Rapids woman had the impetus to get her driver's license for the first time.

Kleinschmidt had either relied on others or walked places she wanted to go, such as pool exercise classes at the high school or her part-time job as a school bus aide.

With encouragement from her family and friends, Kleinschmidt recently got her license on the first try.

Like many teens trying for their driver's license, Kleinschmidt was most worried about parallel parking. She didn't have any trouble, but Kleinschmidt says she'll parallel park only when absolutely necessary
