Spring is in the air, however old man winter is not letting Chicagoland out of his icy grip...just yet. 

A mix of rain and snow is expected to fall across the area this afternoon and into the evening with as much as three inches on the ground by Friday morning.

The Accuweather forecast calls for brisk and cold conditions with a mix of rain and snow turning to all snow later this afternoon and tapering off to flurries this evening. Temperatures are expected to hover in the mid-30's with a low of 28 degrees.
