CHICAGO (AP) - Cook County public health officials are offering swine flu vaccinations at three malls in Chicago's south suburbs, where flu hospitalization rates are high but vaccination rates are low.
Stephen Martin, CEO of the Cook County Department of Public Health, says the mall clinics allow residents to protect their families against the swine flu while getting their holiday shopping done.
Free vaccinations are being offered to anyone over six months of age on select days through the end of the year.
The participating malls are River Oaks Center in Calumet City, Lincoln Mall in Matteson and Chicago Ridge Mall in Chicago Ridge.
There have been 13 Cook County deaths and 528 hospitalizations related to the swine flu virus.
