Study ranks Ill. 4th for obese children

CHICAGO (AP) - A national study puts Illinois among the top 10 states with the highest percentages of overweight or obese teenagers.
The Trust for America's Health and Robert Wood Johnson Foundation report ranks Illinois 10th for overweight children ages 10-17. The state ranks fourth for childhood obesity, behind Mississippi, Georgia and Kentucky.
According to the report, Illinois ranks 27th for obesity among adults. About 26 percent of the state's adults were counted as obese and another 36.4 percent were overweight.
The study is based on 2007 data collected by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
