CHICAGO (WBBM) - A new report spells out the campaign fundraising activities of former Governor Rod Blagojevich before and even after his arrest on corruption charges in December.
Rod Blagojevich had 20 campaign fund-raising gatherings scheduled between October and Mid-December, including a couple scheduled after his arrest December 9th.
The Chicago Sun-Times reports one of those post-arrest fund-raisers actually went on, $22,000 generated by the president of Globetrotters Engineering and the owner of Lou Jones Enterprises.
Three other fund-raisers scheduled after Blagojevich’s arrest were cancelled and--according to Gery Chico, the president of the Chicago Park District Board--everyone who gave donations to the former governor at a fund-raiser Chico organized the day before the arrest cancelled their checks.
The feds are reportedly looking into business deals some of those fundraiser organizers had with the Blagojevich administration.
