Process Said To Rid Air Of MRSA

CHICAGO (WBBM) - An increasing number of Americans are becoming familiar with the potentially deadly drug-resistant infection known as MRSA.

WBBM's Lisa Fielding has the story.

Lisle-based CleanZone systems rids infected areas of odor, bacteria, mold and viruses.

"We seal off the infected area, set up generators and the machines pull the air through the generator and push it out with high level oxygen with O3 (ozone) and sanitize it. It's three thousand times cleaner than chemicals like chlorine," said owner Hoosh Khoshbin.

Koshbin says high school and professional locker rooms can be cesspools for germs and bacteria and not enough school districts are doing enough to prevent the bacteria from spreading.

CleanZone also cleans equipment such as football and hockey pads where bacteria can fester.

In 2005, nearly 19,000 people died from the drug resistant MRSA, more people than died of AIDS across the country.

CleanZone also rids structures of bed bugs, dust mites and mold.
