CHICAGO (STNG) -- CTA construction will affect passengers on nearly every line this weekend, and the transit agency is advising passengers to allow extra travel time.
Brown, Orange, Green and Pink Line trains will be rerouted Downtown from 4 a.m. Saturday until 8 p.m. Sunday while crews make signal improvements, according to the CTA’s Web site.
Brown and Orange Line trains will operate as one route between the Kimball and Midway stations, running in both directions via the Lake and Wabash sides of the Loop Elevated tracks, the CTA said. Transfers to and from the Loop Elevated and Blue Line subway can be made at the Clark/Lake station, and transfers to and from the Loop Elevated and Red Line subway can be made at the State/Lake or Roosevelt stations.

Pink Line trains will begin and end their trips at the Roosevelt station. Transfers to and from the Blue Line subway can be made at the Library station and to and from the Red Line subway at the Library or Roosevelt stations.
Additionally, Loop-bound Brown Line trains will not stop at the Wellington and Diversey stations from 8 p.m. Friday until 4 a.m. Saturday because of construction. During that same time, boarding changes will be in effect for Brown and Red Line trains at the Belmont and Fullerton stations, according to the CTA.
Kimball-bound Brown Line and Howard-bound Red Line trains will stop at the Wellington and Diversey stations, the CTA said.
Also on the Red Line, Howard-bound trains will not stop at the Morse and Jarvis stations from 10 p.m. Friday until 6 p.m. Sunday because of track maintenance, according to the CTA.
On the Blue Line, trains in both directions will operate on the same track between the Grand and LaSalle stations from 10 p.m. Friday until 6 a.m. Saturday while crews make signal improvements, the CTA said.
As a result, passengers must board and exit all trains on the O’Hare-bound side of the platform at the Clark/Lake, Washington, Monroe and Jackson stations from 10 p.m. Friday until 6 a.m. Saturday, the CTA said.
Passengers must board and exit all trains on the Forest Park-bound side of the platform at the Jackson, Monroe, Washington and Clark/Lake stations from 10 p.m. Saturday until 6 a.m. Sunday.
