Pickup Truck Strikes Pole That Falls Onto CTA Tracks

CHICAGO -- A pickup truck struck a pole on the Eisenhower Expressway early Saturday, causing the pole to fall onto nearby CTA tracks.
The pickup drove off  after hitting the pole.

An Illinois State Police District Chicago trooper said a westbound pickup struck a utility pole on the Eisenhower Expy. (I-290) near Racine Avenue about 1:40 a.m.

The CTA Blue Line runs alongside the Eisenhower near Racine Avenue.

State Police have a “general description” of the pickup, and are attempting to track down the offending vehicle, the trooper said.
The pole has been removed from the tracks.
