Park Dist. Closes Ice Rinks Due To Cold



CHICAGO (WBBM/STNG) - All eight outdoor ice rinks operated by the Chicago Park District are closed today as a safety precaution against the inclement weather. 

And a spokeswoman for city's Department of Cultural Affairs said the Millennium Park Ice Rink will also be closed Thursday.

All are scheduled to reopen Friday though a final decision will likely be made Friday morning.

The outdoor rinks are at the following locations:

  • Daley Bicentennial Park, Grant Park, 337 E. Randolph St.
  • McKinley Park, 2210 W. Pershing Rd.
  • Midway Plaisance Park, 1130 Midway Plaisance North
  • Mt. Greenwood Park, 3721 W. 111 St.
  • Riis Park, 6100 W. Fullerton Ave.
  • Rowan Park, 11546 S. Avenue L
  • Warren Park, 6601 N. Western Ave.
  • West Lawn Park, 4233 W. 65th St.
