Oct. 17: Counting Down to Secondary Decisions

NOTHING NEW
We still are in the dark on who plays in the Bears secondary Sunday against the Vikings. Anything is possible. Charles Tillman and Danieal  Manning missed practice Thursday, but Marcus Hamilton returned to fully duty.  He and rookie Zackary Bowman become prime figures in the Bears plans if Tillman, Nathan Vasher, and/or Manning are unable to go.  Cory Graham is golden. He will play somewhere.  Also missing practice were punter Brad Maynard and receiver Brandon Lloyd. The primary concern is who will defend the slot on passing downs if Manning is out.

HONEST APPRAISAL
For the first time we heard a player speak the truth about Sunday's loss in Atlanta. Defensive end Adewale Ogunleye admits he has yet to reconcile how it went down.

"I wish I could just get over it, but I've been having a hard time," Ogunleye said. "It's been three tough losses for us. We've played some close games. We gave away some games. We haven't finished. When you look back on it, it's depressing."

It sure is.
