Obama Opens 6 Offices Across Indy

INDIANAPOLIS (AP)  -- Barack Obama's presidential campaign is opening six new offices across Indiana this weekend.

The offices in Bloomington, Evansville, Fishers, Fort Wayne, Muncie and South Bend will open Saturday.

Obama also has opened an office at the state Democratic Party headquarters and plans to add at least 20 regional offices around the state in the coming weeks. He is also running television ads in the state.

Some Republicans say Obama is simply trying to get Republican rival John McCain to spend significant resources in a state he otherwise would largely bypass.

A spokeswoman for the McCain campaign said last week the campaign is working closely with the Indiana Republican Party and had a network of volunteers in the state.
