No winner in Mega Millions, jackpot rolls over
|
CHICAGO (STNG) -- For lottery players, the key to winning might sometimes be to set one's sights a little lower. No one matched all six numbers in the multi-state Mega Millions game Tuesday night, and only one player in Illinois came anywhere close to the grand prize, but a near west suburban Little Lotto player made out alright, winning more than a-third of a million dollars in that drawing.
The winning numbers in Tuesday night's Mega Million drawing were: 08 - 22 - 27 - 49 and 50, and the Mega Ball number was 28. The closest anyone in Illinois came to matching all six numbers was the one player who matched four of the first five numbers, for a $10,000 prize.
The next Mega Millions drawing, with a grand prize of at least $27 million, is set for Friday night.
A Little Lotto player who bought their ticket in Oak Park had better luck, though. That player matched all five numbers: 06 - 11 - 15 - 18 and 30, for a grand prize of $360,000 according to the Illinois Lottery.
That ticket was purchased at the 7-Eleven at 515 Madison Street in the near west suburb.
Another Little Lotto drawing is scheduled for Wednesday night, with a jackpot of a mere $100,000.
