CHICAGO (STMW) - The intensive search for a man with a gun at Northwestern University's downtown campus has ended Wednesday afternoon with no suspect being found.
According to an emergency alert from Northwestern, a man with a gun in his waistband was seen in an elevator on the 11th floor of the Rubloff Building at 750 N. Lake Shore Dr. about 10 a.m.
Northwestern and Chicago police conducted an intensive search of the building and neighboring area, but as of 12:50 p.m. the search was completed, according to an update from Northwestern.
Chicago and university police, and the FBI remain on site and are continuing to investigate, the alert said.
