McCain, Romney To Campaign Together

SAN FRANCISCO (AP)  -- John McCain and Mitt Romney are teaming up for Republican fundraisers.

Once rivals for the Republican presidential nomination, the two are planning to attend events together in Salt Lake City and Denver.

McCain is on a week-long fundraising swing across the West. He's been struggling to raise campaign money.

Romney dropped out of the race last month after it became clear he couldn't beat McCain's delegate count. A week later he endorsed the Arizona senator and pledged his help.

Neither man seemed fond of the other during the campaign. Romney cast McCain as outside of the party's conservative mainstream, and a Washington insider. McCain, in turn, argued that Romney was willing to change his positions to fit his political goals.
