Jan. 30th - COMING UP

Old faces in new places still interesting to talk to here in Phoenix.  Giants cornerback R.W. McQuarters who admits he was wrong in his approach to Bears head coach Lovie Smith in 2004...an approach that ultimately led to R.W.'s release and a stay in Detroit, before joining the Giants in 2006.  Former Bears linebacker Rosevelt Colvin did not make the trip with the Patriots. He's missing his second Super Bowl after a season ending leg fracture.

I visited with former Bears assistant and current New England running backs coach Ivan Fears, and former Bears tight ends coach Pat Flaherty, who is nearly five years removed from colon cancer.   Brother Rice high school star and University of Illinois offensive lineman Dave Diehl and Chicago's Rodney Harrison of the Patriots discuss their Windy City connections.

Ran into former Bears second rounder Russell Davis, who was released after his rookie season in 1999 only to extend his career into Arizona, Seattle, and now the Giants. He admits busting out with the Bears saved his career.

I'll have some of their comments posted later today.
