Human Remains Discovered on I-65 in Indiana

SCOTTSBURG, Ind. (AP) --- Indiana State Police are investigating human remains that were found along Interstate 65 in southern Indiana.

Trooper Shannon Burton says state police were called to the scene on the southbound lanes of I-65 near Scottsburg about 7 p.m. Thursday after Scott County sheriff's deputies found the remains on and near the highway.

Deputies were investigating an abandoned vehicle when they found the remains.

The southbound lanes of I-65 were closed for about four hours during the investigation.

Police say evidence indicates the remains may belong to someone was struck on the highway late Wednesday night.
