Five shot in two hours

CHICAGO, Ill. (STNG) -- Five people were shot in separate incidents on the South Side Saturday night in less than two hours.
About 7:15 p.m. a man in his 20s was shot in his left leg by an unknown gunman who approached on foot, police News Affairs Officer John Mirabelli said. The incident happened in the 8200 block of South Coles Avenue and the gunman fled on foot.
The man was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in serious-to-critical condition, Fire Media Affairs spokesman Quention Curtis said. Mirabelli said his injuries were not life threatening.
About 7:20 p.m., another young man was shot near South Greenwood Avenue and East 80th Street, Curtis said. The man was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, also in serious-to-critical condition.
Just minutes later, a 19-year-old man was shot in his side in the 1800 block of E. 71st St., Curtis said. The man was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in serious-to-critical condition.
About 7:45 p.m., another man was shot at 6210 S. Laflin St., Curtis said. Hospital information for the man was not immediately available.
At 8:30 p.m., police responded to a shooting in the 5200 block of South Halsted Street, police News Affairs Officer John Henry said. A man, between 25 and 30-years-old, was found with a gunshot wound to his torso on the street. The incident may have been a drive-by, Henry said.
Hospital information was not available.
No one was in custody for the shooting as of 11 p.m., Henry said.
