CHICAGO (STNG) --Four children and three adults were injured when a car and van collided Friday morning on the Far South Side, fire officials said.
Emergency crews responded about 6:30 a.m. to a crash involving a car and van at South Wallace Avenue and West 127th Street and initiated an EMS Plan 1 response, which automatically sends five ambulances to the scene, Fire Media Affairs Cmdr. Will Knight said.
One child was taken in critical condition to University of Chicago Comer Children’s Hospital, two children were taken in good condition to MetroSouth Medical Center in Blue Island and two children were taken in good condition to Roseland Community Hospital, Knight said.
One adult was taken in critical condition to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn and two adults were taken in good condition to Advocate Trinity Hospital, Knight said.
It was not immediately known how many people were in each van.
The EMS Plan 1 was secured by 7:10 a.m.
Calumet District police are investigating, but police could not immediately provide further details.
