No White House dog arrival this week
|
Steve Miller Reporting
CHICAGO (WBBM) - The First Lady's press secretary Katie McCormick Lelyveld says "definitely not this week," when asked for guidance on the arrival of the Obama's family dog.
President Obama has said the First Family would get the dog "after I get back from the G20 summit."
The Obama Dog Watch never stops.
As we've been reporting, speculation about the First Family's dog has now been elevated to a level of credibility just above the "rumor" level.
A source says the Obamas are getting a male Portuguese Water Dog puppy and that the dog was actually at the White House a couple of weeks ago to meet the Obamas.
Now Senator Dick Durbin says the Obamas will be getting their dog soon.
Senator Durbin says the dog has been going through training while the president and the first lady have been traveling.
Durbin did not comment on what kind of dog the Obamas are getting or where the dog is coming from.
