CHICAGO (STNG) -- Authorities are seeking the public’s help in finding a suspect dubbed the “Ridge Road Robber’’ wanted in at least one bank robbery in south suburban Lansing, federal authorities announced Tuesday morning.
The robbery happened Aug. 28 at the Chase Bank branch, 3115 Ridge Rd. and witnesses reported seeing a man enter the bank, wait in line until a teller became available and hand the teller a note which demanded money, according to a release from the FBI.
He gave the teller a a small blue bag and demanded the teller fill it with cash from her teller drawer. After receiving an undisclosed amount of money he fled on foot. No injuries were reported.
Witnesses described the man as being a black man about 30, about six feet tall with a large build and weighing about 210 pounds. He was wearing a green and tan floppy-style hat and a similar-colored polo shirt, and should be considered armed and dangerous, according to the release.
He was given the name the Ridge Road robber because police believe he may be responsible for the robbery of another Chase Bank branch, also located in Ridge Road, in Munster, Ind., according to the release.
