Dec. 27th - ALEX BROWN WANTS SNAPS

Losing his starting job during the off-season never did sit well with Bears defensive end Alex Brown.  He believes he's a starter and feels he's made the most of his snaps this season. His disappointment never effected his play in 2007.

"I just want an opportunity to play that's it," Brown said. Hopefully, that's enough. We'll see."

Brown has two years remaining on his contract. He proved this season he can play both sides of the line, at times rush the passer from the tackle position, play special teams, and play through injuries.  He's been as durable as any defensive lineman in the league. If he doesn't get the chance to compete for the starting job in 2008, it will be a disappointing development for Brown. He's hungry and believes he's extremely valuable given his versatility and ability to not only rush the passer, but stop the run.  In 2005 and 2006, Brown was a Pro Bowl alternate.
