DUI suspect to cops: 'Dude, I do this every night'

PORTAGE, Ind. (WBBM/STNG) -- A northwest Indiana man pulled over for drunken driving early Thursday allegedly told the state trooper: “Dude, I do this every night…” Police said he was more than four times over the state’s legal blood alcohol limit.
About 2:20 a.m., the Porter County Sheriff’s Dept. received a call of a truck being driven erratically, according to a release from Indiana State Police. A state trooper pulled over the 1995 Chevrolet S-10 pickup on Route 149 near County Road 1000N.
Zachary R. Duis of Portage allegedly had an open bottle of alcohol in the truck and failed a field sobriety test, the release said. When he was taken to the Portage Police Department for a breath test, he allegedly told the trooper, "Dude, I do this every night; I'm straight up and not drunk!"
His blood alcohol level was allegedly four times Indiana's legal limit of .08 percent, the release said.
Duis was charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated, and police said he was wanted on two warrants for resisting law enforcement and furnishing alcohol to a minor. He was being held in the Porter County Jail on Thursday morning.
