Chelsea Clinton Refuses To Answer Question About Monica Lewinsky
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (AP) -- The Butler University student who was rebuked by Chelsea Clinton for asking about her mother's handling of the Monica Lewinsky scandal has said he supports the former first lady.
Evan Strange tells CBS that he was simply trying to give Chelsea Clinton a chance to show people ``what makes Hillary so strong'' during Chelsea's appearance on the school's Indiana's campus yesterday.
Strange asked Clinton her opinion of criticism that the way her mother handled the Lewinsky scandal might be a sign of weakness for the Democrat during her presidential campaign.
Clinton replied that she didn't think the matter was any of his business.
Strange says he was surprised by the answer and would have liked to ``hear her say something about Hillary rather than dismissing the question.''

Your Call: Chelsea Refused To Answer Lewinsky Question
What do you think? Should she have answered?
03/26/2008 12:29PM
Chelsea did the right thing.
Every person has a right to privacy (Or perhaps should get it.), even famous/everyday people. It seems as though people need to remember that others' privacy is just as important as his/her own. Unfortunately, people choose to meddle into other peoples' affairs. Perhaps it is a psychological defense mechanism to avoid dealing with the individual's own circumstances.

Good for Chelsea
The person who asked the question is obviously an idiot. That is not something you talk about and more than likely it is something that probably hurt Chelsea very much. It did not need to be brought up and this person should have considered her feelings towards the issue. Very poor taste and I applaud Chelsea for her remark to him. Why can't these fools ask intelligent questions?

Chelsea was right!
She answered correctly that it was none of his business.

I don%u2019t see how Chelsea%u2019s response makes any sense at all. The question was asking her opinion on whether she thought that the Lewinsky matter indicated anything about Hillary%u2019s ability to lead or whether it was a sign of weakness. How is %u201Cnone of your business%u201D a response to this question? It seems as if this whole thing has been interpreted to be that the questioner was asking Chelsea what she thought about Lewinsky effect on her family or what she thought of her Mother with regard to Lewinsky which is a personal question.

strong democrat
Chelsea answered the way I would have answered. It's history and not pertinent to today's
campaign. I, for one, am looking for a change in the WH and think Hillary is THE ONLY WAY TO GO. Sen. Obama doesn't have the experience or qualities it takes.

concerned, informed voter
Good for Chelsea. Her parents have done an admirable job raising her. She is an intelligent, smart young adult and a good citizen. I agree with previous poster, strong democrat. Hillary is the best, most qualified person for the job. I cannot trust Obama to be a good president for all when he does not have the common sense to leave his church. I cannot believe in all his years of presence there his minister did not speak his venom in Obama's presence. Shame on him.

An Chelsea should have said: My mother handled that time in her life we great dignity. She showed the world the type of leader she was and would be. Chelsea, screwed up, plain and simple.
