Car burglars steal officer's uniform, gear

AURORA (STNG) -- Burglars broke into three cars early Friday in west suburban Aurora, stealing thousands of dollars in merchandise which included a security officer's uniform, police scanner and handcuffs.
The incident happened sometime between 3 and 11 a.m. on the 100 block of Woodlawn Avenue, Aurora police said.
Burglars stole stereo equipment from all three vehicles, as well as a security officer uniform and duffle bag filled with handcuffs, zip ties, a pepper ball gas gun and a police scanner. Total loss was set at more than $6,000.
