Car Pulls Into Path of Amtrak

BRAIDWOOD--Emergency crews responded to the scene of a crash involving an Amtrak train and a vehicle Friday night.
About 6:45 p.m. Friday, Amtrak train No. 305 southbound to St. Louis from Chicago struck a vehicle that pulled into its path about 21 miles south of Joliet, according to Amtrak spokesman Marc Magliari, who said he was told the crash did not involve a fatality.

None of the train’s passengers or crew were injured, Magliari said.

The Braidwood Fire Department was on the scene of a train crash at Route 53 and Division Street, according to a Braidwood firefighter.

One person had been taken to Provena Saint Joseph Medical Center in Joliet, the firefighter said. Braidwood police decline to comment on the incident.
