SKOKIE (STNG) -- A deer was fatally struck by a CTA train Saturday morning near the Skokie Yellow Line stop, prompting a one-hour power outage as crews worked to clear up the scene.
The incident was reported about 7:50 a.m., after a conductor reported striking a deer near the Skokie Yellow Line stop, CTA spokeswoman Sheila Gregory said.
Crews removed power as they worked to clear the scene but service was restored about 8:50 a.m, Gregory said.
Riders were able to take the No.97 Skokie bus as an alternative to the train.
