Burr Oak inching toward reopening

ALSIP, Ill. (WBBM) -- Cook County Sheriff Tom Dart says that Burr Oak Cemetery, in Alsip, continues to inch toward reopening.
"The investigation's moving along pretty rapidly now," he said.
Dart still won't rule out additional arrests as the investigation continues.
"There are a couple of witnesses we are following up on and some of the leads that we're following up on now," he said.
While Dart said there have been no "new shockers," he said the good news is that the turnover of database information to court-appointed cemetery receiver Roman Czebelski is virtually complete.
The database contains photos of all 42,000 headstones in the cemetery and the other records investigators have been able to reassemble.
Dart has said that to reopen before the database were complete and available to the public would be "torture" to the families of those who are buried at Burr Oak.
Czebelski has not yet decided whether new burial sites will be sold at the cemetery once it reopens, or whether burials will be limited to those who already have purchased unused gave sites.
