Auroran charged with hitting an officer during arrest

ST. CHARLES (STNG) -- An Aurora man was charged with felony aggravated-battery after striking an officer in the head during his arrest Wednesday, the Kane County State's Attorney's office said.
Ricky Mitchell, 45, of the 300 block of Rosewood Avenue in Aurora, was charged with felony aggravated battery and resisting a peace officer, prosecutors said.
Mitchell was arrested after he allegedly struggled with officers while being placed under arrest and struck an officer in the head with his fist on Wednesday, prosecutors said.
It was not immediately known where the incident took place.
