American Idol wannabes line up

CHICAGO (WBBM) - Crowds are gathering at the United Center this morning. They are would-be American Idols.
This may be the 9th season of television's "American Idol" show coming up, but the fervor to become an American Idol does not seem to be diminishing.
Parking lots all around the United Center are open. Hundreds, if not, thousands of would-be Idols are arriving, ready to show the judges their stuff.
Elizabeth Pedraza works in a gym, but she’s ready for fame and fortune. First, though, she has to get before Idol judges and win that all-important ticket to Hollywood.
"It’s a little nerve-wracking but I think when you get past it and you have a passion, and you’re doing what you love, you got to get over it and just got to do it and be excited about it and be confident," she told Newsradio 780.
Registration for Monday's auditions, was over the weekend. Contestants were given green wristbands.
Many hopefuls, no doubt, remember one American Idol star from Chicago who went on to do big things - Jennifer Hudson.
