(FORD HEIGHTS) Bond was set at $7,500 Monday for a south suburban woman charged with stabbing a 50-year-old woman during a fight over the weekend in south suburban Ford Heights.

Kimberly Davis, 26, of 93 Knollwood in Park Forest was charged Sunday evening with one count of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, according to a release from the Cook County Sheriff’s office.

The charges stem from an incident about 4:30 p.m. Saturday in the 900 block of 16th Street in Ford Heights. Davis was visiting a friend at a home on that block, while the 50-year-old woman, who lives in Harvey, was visiting a home on the same block, the release said.

At one point, both women were outside and began arguing, the release said. The argument escalated to a physical confrontation that included the 50-year-old woman allegedly pulling Davis’ wig off and handing it to her.

As the older woman began walking away, Davis allegedly pulled out a knife and slashed the woman’s neck, then allegedly stabbed her in the head more than once, the release said.

The victim was treated and released at St. James Olympia Fields Hospital in Chicago Heights.

Davis was arrested and appeared bond court Monday in Markham. She is slated for a preliminary hearing on April 13.
