CHICAGO (STNG) - Four men from southwest suburban Summit were charged for their involvement in a gang fight early Sunday outside a Near West Side nightclub that injured five men -- including a person reportedly hit by a car during the fight.
Danny Stevenson, 30, of the 7400 block of West 64th Place; Kellen Carpenter, 25, of the 7600 block of West 63rd Place; Ali Sullivan, 29, also of the 7600 block of West 63rd Place and Ian McGee, 21, of the 7400 block of West 64th Place, were each charged with misdemeanor battery, according to police News Affairs.
The four are scheduled to appear in Misdemeanor Court, (Br. 29), 2452 W. Belmont, on June 29 at 9 a.m., according to the release.
The fire department requested the police issue a 10-1, an emergency call for assistance, about 4:20 a.m. at 440 N. Halsted St., according to police. Rednofive nightclub is listed at the Halsted Street address.
Officers responded to a gang fight outside the club, where three people had been struck with a baseball bat by one of the four suspects, News Affairs said.
It was not clear how the other two men hospitalized were hurt, but police said a man was reportedly hit by a car during the course of the fight.
Chicago Fire Dept. spokesman Joe Roccasalva said crews transported three victims to the hospital about 10 minutes after they arrived on the scene. Emergency crews initially received calls for a stabbing, a shooting and a beating at the address, Roccasalva said.
Three people were taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in “trauma” condition, Roccasalva said.
The News Affairs release said one 26-year-old man remained in critical condition at Northwestern, and a 32 and a 26-year-old man remained at Northwestern in “stable” condition.
The release also indicated a 24-year-old man took himself to Loretto Hospital where he was in “stable” condition and a 26-year-old man took himself to MacNeal Hospital in Berwyn where his condition was not known.
The man who went to Loretto reportedly left the scene to go home but later went to the hospital where it was determined his injuries stemmed from the fight, according to police News Affairs Officer Daniel O’Brien.
Roccasalva said paramedics were called back to the scene at 5 and 6 a.m. to assist police with a ladder to access the roof in an attempt to recover a weapon.
Police said a baseball bat was recovered on the rooftop of a building near the scene.
Harrison Area detectives are investigating.
