● Shell and The City of Chicago present the 50th Annual Chicago Air and Water Show -- the oldest and largest free admission air and water exhibition of its kind in the United States. The show takes place August 15 -17 along Lake Michigan from Fullerton to Oak Street with the focal point at North Avenue beach. 
  • Newsradio 780 will carry the Air and Water show LIVE Sunday begining at 10:45 a.m. until the show ends - bring your radio to the lakefront for the play-by-play action!!!
● 2008 Headliners Include: The U.S. Navy Blue Angels and the U.S. Army Parachute Team Golden Knights


●The Shell Extreme Water Show starts at 9:00 a.m. and the air show starts at 11:00 a.m. and runs until 4:00 p.m. each day
 
● Other performers include the Aeroshell Aerobatic Team, Lima Lima Flight Team, Sean D. Tucker and Team Oracle, the Collaborators, Bill Leff Air Shows and The Firebirds as well as numerous military aircraft including the F-22 Raptor and the U.S. Navy Parachute Team Leap Frogs.

● The Mayor’s Office of Special Events encourages taking public transportation to the show.

Leap Frogs: U.S. Navy Parachute Team
The U.S. Navy Parachute Team was first formed in 1969, and was officially titled "The Leap Frogs" in 1974 by the Chief of Naval Operations and assigned the mission of demonstrating Navy excellence throughout the United States.
